My bitter eXperience

Possible this is a small part of experience of migration hurting from Joomla 1.5 RC4 to Joomla 1.5 Stable, I do stupid thing like this :

  1. Database which i was backup cannot in restore.
  2. Used same database name in test directory, so database that again online was befall with "sample database"

I would like to remind all of you, never do what i've done, if you won't all of your database or your joomla getting problem.

so, please remember this attention :

  1. Be sure all database has backed up and can be restore !!!
  2. Dont install in root directory public_html, but create other subdirectory such as "test", and dont to try used same name for your database, or create your test joomla file in localhost in your private computer with Xampp.
  3. For you who was restoring joomla 1.5 in root directory and success, be sure after installation just copy configuration.php and paste in public_html, then edit all CHMOD become writeable. (Help Menu - System info - select directory permissions. if all still unwriteable... check and make it writeable!
  4. If all was OK! now we can install in root directory public_html and we must remember username and databasename which has been restored. If different with our database, will there are warning that our database"MySql not found"(could not connect to database).
